As a teacher I will definitely be using surveys and excel in the classroom. Surveys are a fast and easy way to obtain opinions from your students. I would use a survey if I was teaching statistics because it is a great way to get anonymous results. Excel is a very beneficial tool because it allows teachers to calculate grades and come up with averages in a very simple and organized way. I would use it to keep track of my students homework, assignments, quizzes, and test grades. Excel would also be great for a statistics or any math class because it allows you to input data and analyze it. These tools are essential for all grade levels.         What I found most interesting when viewing my classmates blogs were how different and similar some of our views on technology are. For example, I saw that many of my peers really enjoyed tools like Diigo. Many believed that Diigo was resourceful and useful because ...

The flipped classroom design is where students get the ability of obtaining the course material outside of school and they go over the content on their own time which ultimately prepares them for an active learning experience in the classroom after. Usually students view the material online and learn at their own pace and then are given activities in class pertaining to the material they already learned online. A flipped classroom is beneficial because the student has time to reflect and are able to replay the material until they fully understand. Also, this allows the teacher an understanding of the pace of the classroom and what their students are having difficulty on.       Open educational resources are public materials used by teachers or students that can be used, changed, and shared freely. Examples of this can be lesson plans, worksheets, videos, course materials, etc. https://www.edweek.org/ew/issues/open-educational-resources-oer/ind...

While working with Diigo, the new skills I learned were how to bookmark sites and annotate on them. I believe this is a useful skill because it is a quick and effective way to share articles and different websites in a group or just for myself. In the classroom, this application can be useful because it is a great way to share your thoughts and opinions on certain articles and specific quotes. I can annotate the work my students turn in electronically instead of having to use pen and paper. With team members it would also be effective because you can easily create a group where we can each share our portion of the project or assignment we are working on together. It is also useful for myself because I would not have to print out articles, I could just annotate them and bookmark them using Diigo.      I would use Powerpoint to support student learning at each level of blooms taxonomy is a various ways in a lesson. If I was conducting a biology lesson, for th...

Using twitter as an educational platform is extremely effective. I have been able to find numerous accounts that provide great resources for study tips, reliable news, and different subjects. What I learned from using twitter is that it is a great platform for a classroom because students are able to check up on posts that their teachers make and they can even contribute their opinions to issues by replying to different tweets. Twitter is beneficial because teachers can use it to post assignments that are due or to update students on things taking place in school for that week. Overall, I have not experienced any issues while utilizing twitter.       While working on the web design assignment, I learned how to set up my own website and customize it to my liking. This was very helpful because once I become a teacher I now know all the basic skills to set up a website for my classroom. I liked how easy it was to add texts boxes and images. For the most...

When I first utilized Diigo I was a bit confused with the format of the website. Once I got past that, I began browsing and I realized that its a great platform for researching because it allows you to save, annotate, and organize different websites. What I like most about Diigo is the annotating and highlighting tool because it is extremely convenient to be able to do those things without having to print out the information and manually annotating and highlighting. Also, I really like how Diigo provides "Diigo help" which includes a step by step manual on how to use certain tools and it also includes screenshots on how to do those things. What I did not like about Diigo is its overall website format. I believe they could have formatted it in a way where things could be more clear.           My experience with blogging has been quite good. I enjoy blogging because it is an excellent way to reach out to people and have your opin...
