While working with Diigo, the new skills I learned were how to bookmark sites and annotate on them. I believe this is a useful skill because it is a quick and effective way to share articles and different websites in a group or just for myself. In the classroom, this application can be useful because it is a great way to share your thoughts and opinions on certain articles and specific quotes. I can annotate the work my students turn in electronically instead of having to use pen and paper. With team members it would also be effective because you can easily create a group where we can each share our portion of the project or assignment we are working on together. It is also useful for myself because I would not have to print out articles, I could just annotate them and bookmark them using Diigo.
I would use Powerpoint to support student learning at each level of blooms taxonomy is a various ways in a lesson. If I was conducting a biology lesson, for the create portion I would use power-points animation option and include interactive models of the mitochondria and other different organelles. For the evaluating portion, I would include a slide where I introduce a hypothesis and pose an argument about the scientific question I am trying to investigate. For the analytical portion I can construct a graph on one of the slides depicting the different rates of enzymes. For the applying portion, I would use a slide to completely examine and act out my hypothesis. For the understanding portion I could articulate a Venn diagram into one of the slides comparing the functions of different organelles. Finally, for the remembering portion, I can utilize bullet points and highlight the definitions students must memorize.
Technology and teacher development is extremely important in education. As the years ago by, technology becomes more advanced and it is crucial to incorporate technology into the classroom to keep students engaged and eager to learn. It is also important for teachers to be update to date since technology is always advancing on the daily.
