Blog 5

When I first utilized Diigo I was a bit confused with the format of the website. Once I got past that, I began browsing and I realized that its a great platform for researching because it allows you to save, annotate, and organize different websites. What I like most about Diigo is the annotating and highlighting tool because it is extremely convenient to be able to do those things without having to print out the information and manually annotating and highlighting. Also, I really like how Diigo provides "Diigo help" which includes a step by step manual on how to use certain tools and it also includes screenshots on how to do those things. What I did not like about Diigo is its overall website format. I believe they could have formatted it in a way where things could be more clear.
My experience with blogging has been quite good. I enjoy blogging because it is an excellent way to reach out to people and have your opinion heard. Also, setting up a blog is very simple and posting on it does not require much prior knowledge. What I do not like about blogging is that technical issues can occur. During my blog post 3, I had a difficult time publishing my post because the website was glitching. Aside from that, I have learned that the blogging process can be very beneficial to educators because it is a tool they can use to reach out to their students and keep them informed on what is going on in class.
Once I start teaching I would like to incorporate the Web 2.0 tool titled "Prezi" into my lessons because I know for a fact it will keep students interested. Prezi is a more interactive and creative version of a powerpoint presentation. It consists of hundreds of templates designed for every grade level and subject. It has amazing graphics that makes teaching a lesson dynamic and engaging. This is the type of software to use when teaching an important lesson because it will help students grasp the material. On top of that, Prezi is free to everyone who has an e-mail account which is always a plus.

  1. Haha... you are not the first one complaining about the look and design of Diigo. I agree with you. They can do better.
Prezi is a interesting tool that a lot of people love. However, in terms of Web 2.0 technology, it is not technically considered as Web 2.0 because Web 2.0 focuses user-generated content and sharing.
