• What influences teachers and students to use technology in the classroom is the fact that technology plays a huge role in everyones life. Younger generations have grown up using technology and incorporating it into a lesson would give students a better understanding. Using technology in the classroom brings lots of benefits and it keeps students engaged. 

• I believe the ISTE standards are crucial because it prepares teachers to teach in a way where they advance their students learning. These standards contribute to more engagement in the classroom and increases communication skills between the teacher and student. A standard that is meaningful to me is "educators dedicate time to collaborate with both colleagues and students to improve practice". Dedicating time to improve ones skill set is extremely beneficial to both teacher and student success. By doing this teachers are making sure they are teaching their students in the best way possible. A standard that I believe is outside my current skill level is "applying pedagogical approaches made possible by technology and reflect on their effectiveness" because I still have not been taught about pedagogy and technology. 

• The term "digital native" is an accurate label for todays youth because they have grown up surrounded by technology and they use it on a daily basis. Being a digital native means growing up in a place where technology makes the world go round. I do see a difference between myself and my teachers when it comes to technology. My teachers usually do not know how to properly function certain things around the classroom like the computers and smart boards and usually the students have to help set things up. I believe there will not be much of a difference technology wise between myself and my future students because I am a "digital native" and I will be up to date with the technology they are using.
