When I first made twitter it was early 2012 while I was in middle school and I mostly used it as a way to communicate with my friends and keep up with celebrities. I interacted with my friends about different topics that were prevalent at the moment and I even shared my opinion on things with complete strangers. I found twitter beneficial because theres different accounts such as news outlets that helps inform society on whats going on. Also, there are educational accounts that can help you learn new things like studying strategies and test preps. Twitter might be helpful in my future career because I can utilize it as a class resource by tweeting about upcoming assignments and events.
The digital divide in classrooms affects students on the daily all around the world. Students who do not have access to technological devices can fall behind with their due dates and can struggle more than other students because they do not know how to properly utilize the device. The main cause of digital divide is not having access and this is usually due to not having enough money to afford such technologies. As a classroom teacher I expect to have some students who have no access or limited access to technology. I believe this would not affect my teaching strategies because I would reach out to those students who need help and provide them with resources that the school provides to help them reach their needs.
The academic softwares I intend on implementing in my future classroom would definitely be Edmodo and no red ink. Edmodo is a software where teachers can upload class materials and due dates and it has a similar function to canvas. I would like to use it because it will keep all the material for the course organized. No red ink is a software that helps students with their grammar by providing various questions on different conventions and helping the student master their grammar. This would be extremely beneficial to my classroom because it can help students tremendously with their writing.
I am glad that you are aware of digital divide. It is something that educators should keep in mind.
